Art must unsettle the mind and should not let us come away unscathed. This notion has guided my choices for this concert series presented at Casa Del Popolo, a venue whose mission is to promote artists on the fringes of their community. Phénomena’s invitation to act as Commissioner allows me to present a platform for excellence, the strange, and the hybrid. By working with Montreal organization La Brique from 2005 to 2013, I had the good fortune to meet exceptional artisans and musicians and I’m delighted to present these 16 avant-garde artists and groups.
